In celebration of 100 years of 31 Squadron RAF
Celebrates 100 years of "The Goldstars" - aka 31 Squadron, one of the most fascinating squadrons of the Royal Air Force.
This is the story of the conversion and fitting out of three 30ft ISO steel shipping containers into the Goldstar Collection Centenary Exhibition.
The artefacts and memorabilia displayed feature a century of interest and information gathered from ex 31 Squadron personnel representing 100 years of continuing service to the world.
exhibition is sited at Niederrhein Weeze Airport (formerly RAF Laarbruch) - an
expanding RAF Germany Museum.
illustrate and explore a myriad of little-known, but very real, conflicts; from
formation on the North West Frontier of India to Afghanistan, Syria (20th and
21st-century), through Burma/Japanese WW2 campaigns (Chindit and Kohima supply)
to the Cold War in Europe and Middle Eastern theatres.
